PURPOSE OF THE SITE

The Site provides general information about UNI, including its person-centered programs, community inclusion and employment-centered services, and partnerships. UNI works to support neurodivergent individuals and people with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. The Site may reference California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Title 17 Regulations, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) principles, and other resources.

SITE CONTENT IS INFORMATIONAL; IT IS NOT PROFESSIONAL ADVICE OR A GUARANTEE OF SERVICES

Site content is for general informational purposes only. It is not medical, mental-health, behavioral-health, legal, financial, benefits, eligibility, educational, or other professional advice; it does not establish a provider-client, clinician-patient, employment, or other professional relationship; and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. References to laws, regulations, or public programs are not legal advice and may not be complete or current.

Use of the Site, an inquiry, or a career-interest application does not create a right to services, a service agreement, an employment relationship, or an offer of employment. Program availability, eligibility, enrollment, and services depend on applicable requirements, assessments, funding, capacity, contracts, and written agreements. Where a Regional Center or another agency determines eligibility or authorizes services, UNI does not control that determination.

NOT FOR EMERGENCIES OR PROTECTED HEALTH INFORMATION

Do not use the Site for an emergency, urgent-care need, or crisis. Call 911 for an immediate emergency.

The Site’s contact form and career-interest application are not HIPAA-compliant communication channels. Do not submit protected health information (PHI), medical records, diagnoses, treatment information, Regional Center records, insurance information, Social Security numbers, financial-account information, or other confidential information through the Site or an uploaded document. Existing clients and families should use the secure communication method provided by UNI for sensitive information.

PRIVACY

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, and disclose information submitted through the Site. It is incorporated into these Terms. By using the Site or submitting a form, you acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy.

SUBMISSIONS AND CAREER-INTEREST APPLICATIONS

If you submit a message, application, résumé, or other material through the Site, you represent that: (1) the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge; (2) you are authorized to provide it; (3) it does not contain PHI or the other sensitive information prohibited above; and (4) it does not infringe another person’s rights or contain unlawful, harmful, or malicious material.

You authorize UNI to use the submission to respond to your request or evaluate your interest in employment, as applicable, and in accordance with the Privacy Policy. Submission of an application does not guarantee an interview, employment, or response. UNI may retain application materials as permitted or required by law and its record-retention practices.

ACCEPTABLE USE

You may use the Site only for lawful, personal, and noncommercial purposes consistent with these Terms. You must not:

• interfere with, disrupt, damage, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems;
• use automated tools to scrape, crawl, harvest, or overload the Site without our written permission;
• submit false, deceptive, unlawful, infringing, threatening, abusive, or malicious content;
• upload malware or code intended to damage, interrupt, or gain unauthorized access to a system; or
• use the Site in a way that violates applicable law or another person’s rights.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Site and its content, including its text, graphics, logos, images, designs, and arrangement, are owned by UNI or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, UNI grants you a limited, revocable, nontransferable license to access and use the Site for its intended informational purpose. You may not copy, modify, publish, distribute, display, create derivative works from, or otherwise exploit Site content without UNI’s prior written permission, except as permitted by law.

THIRD-PARTY SITES AND CONTENT

The Site may link to or embed content from third parties, including maps, government resources, community partners, or social-media platforms. Those third parties are responsible for their own content, availability, and privacy practices. A link or reference does not mean UNI endorses or controls the third party. You use third-party sites at your own risk.

AVAILABILITY AND DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Site at any time. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, availability, or security. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, UNI and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, goodwill, profits, or business opportunity, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, UNI’s total liability for any claim related to the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, the limitations above apply only to the extent permitted by law.

INDEMNIFICATION

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless UNI and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and affiliates from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your violation of another person’s rights.

GOVERNING LAW AND VENUE

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, unless applicable law requires otherwise. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on the Site and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.

SEVERABILITY AND WAIVER

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
